Found this dime in a silver lot - opinions?

I don't have much experience in the coin hobby but have been becoming increasingly interested and have been stacking silver for a while. I recently bought a silver lot for under spot and found a dime that looked odd but couldn't find anything about it, I thought maybe since it was silver it was cut etc but it looks smashed, like the t and y in liberty actually draw to the edge of the coin and then I noticed it is missing part of the edge/rim. I am wondering is this a mint error off center strike or something? I can post more pictures if needed as I have a "cheap" usb microscope.

I’m going to go with damage. The one part has an appearance of a clip but the missing rim by the date on both sides makes me think damage.
I would say double clipped planchet. The metal flows into the void areas.
4 more pictures to help sry for the bluriness on some, it is hard to hold steady enough on an angle to snap a picture under a microscope

It does look like a clipped planchet by one/liberty....not sure about the area at the date... can you get an edge picture?....Cheers, RickO
I'd say double clip planchet by the looks of it jmo

Double clip planchet.
Also since you guys named it, I am finding results to compare to, so thank you for that. Also thanks for welcome, hope to stick around, been reading through posts all morning
This was in a bag of about 400 other 90% mixed with quarters halves and dimes.
Double clip.
We should really commend @Treynok for finding and posting something real and interesting that he found, and not just something that’s been run over in a parking lot. Thanks, and good eye!
Cool find, congrats! Certainly looks like a clip but not my area of expertise.

Like I said I am new/inexperienced but have to agree after more research. Thank you all, learned so much this morning, this is the first coin I've found that looks anything like this.

Good eye.... and nice coin. Welcome to the forum.
Double clipped although the clip by the date is small. You can see the punch and tear characteristic on the edge of the large clip by LIBERTY. Nice find
Great find @Treynok , stick around here, with all of your stacked silver you may have some other mint errors to find

Bad transactions with : nobody to date
Genuine double clipped planchet, nice find. The smaller clip could be mistaken for Blakesley effect, the latter will result in a weak rim but on this coin there is clearly metal flow into the void.

Congratulations, you are one of the 0.1 % of new posters that come on the board to post an error, and it turns out to actually be an error. it seems 99.9 % of the time it is Post Mint damage (PMD).

Thanks for the confirmations, and being inexperienced I genuinely was having trouble finding anything similar with Google without knowing the terminology. Always looking to learn new things, I've had family into coins growing up but never took interest when I was younger (wish I had and started collecting years ago). Growing older myself I have found it interesting to look through coins and think about the older coins and the history behind them. I started with just weight buying/stacking but have definitely been pulled in at this point, best part is my wife loves it too, she was looking through coins this weekend with me and helping me find really nice examples/dates to capsule.
Nice error find!
Shows that I shouldn’t second guess my original thought... lol. Oh well, glad that my being wrong is a good thing this time. Nice score at a nice price.
yes, real
