Sorry if this has already been posted. CK shows is putting on a coin show at the Palace Station this weekend for anyone who is in the area. I was there on Thursday for the afternoon and was able to sell a few coins and buy a couple of things also.
Because of the social distancing requirements they have to limit the number of people in the room. To make it fair for all who want to attend, they were planning on limiting the time each person could stay in the room to an hour if there are people waiting to get in. They can then go outside and wait in the line to get back in for another hour. I'm heading back this afternoon so I'll see how that worked out.
There is a mask requirement here in Vegas, so everyone was wearing a mask. They limited the chairs in front of dealer table to one. After a person sits in a chair, before anyone else can sit in it, they have a designated cleaning person on staff who will disinfect the surfaces. There was also hand sanitizer stations around the room.
Lots of Bullion for sale in the room. I didn't really look at the premiums because I was mostly there to sell. I did find a couple of interesting coins and related items. I'll post some purchases tonight or tomorrow.
All in all I feel like I put myself in more danger eating the triple pepperoni Detroit style pizza for dinner than I did going to the show. I guess we will see how it goes.

@bigjpst .... Thank you for the show report....next visit, see if you can get a feel for the bullion prices... and get some more of that pizza....
Cheers, RickO
I think if I still ate pizza, that would be of interest to me. Thanks for the report.
Show with those terms isn’t something I want to deal with.
Tonight we’re going to Slater’s 50/50 for burgers. 50% beef 50% ground bacon.
I’ll see what I can find out about prices.

Headed back to the show Saturday afternoon and it by the time I got there attendance was pretty sparse. No line, no people waiting to get in, but a few attendees roaming around the room. I did forget to mention in my original post that everyone entering the casino had to go through a security checkpoint with an infrared temperature scan.
Speaking to a couple dealers I know they said that Friday attendance was pretty good. Although the whole leaving and coming back in created quite a bit of drama. They had a conference room set up just outside the door with tables and chairs, but apparently there was a lot of complaining by attendees. With some just getting tired of it and leaving. Having dinner with a couple of dealers they told me that because they were sharing a table with another dealer they actually had to leave and go outside and wait when it got too busy. One was actually told they had to leave during a transaction with a customer. I'm sure it wasn't easy for anyone, but hopefully the show planned for August is a bit more organized.
Because @ricko asked, I checked on some bullion premiums. The two dealers that were actually selling generic bullion premiums were pretty low. $19.60 for generic silver rounds and $20 for art bars etc. Watched one dealer sell 2 raw platinum Maples for $840 each. Gold 5 pesos for $225. Silver eagles were selling for $23.. Of course there were several dealers with high premium silver that weren't selling.
I was able to find a couple of interesting items on Thursday, but only bought one coin yesterday. All in all it was nice to be able to attend a show. Had dinner both nights with a dealer friend of mine. No classy meals for us. Usually the greasiest hole in the walls are our speed.
Thursdays purchases were all from one dealer. He usually has a good mix of world and U.S. coins and some oddities mixed in. The Victor David Brenner mini plaque is just over 3 oz silver and made by Medallic Art Co.
The peace dollar advertising and Chinese love token were too cool for me to pass up. I had never seen either before.
Thursday night we went to a place in the downtown container park called Good Pie. The container park is at least partially owned by The owners of The Gold and Silver Pawn shop of Pawn Stars fame. It is right next door to the pawn shop. Pizza was about as greasy as they come but amazing.
Saturday I was only able to find one coin to buy. I had already combed through most of the dealer's inventory on Thursday, so not much I didn't see. But I was able to find this Indian cent. I know the color can be controversial, but couldn't help it.
Last night we went to a burger place named Slater's 50/50. Their claim to fame is the 50% ground beef 50% bacon burger. Bacon is the theme of the restaurant with bacon ketchup and bacon deserts. I decided to try the Wagyu beef patty instead of the 50/50 since I've had it before several times. Sriracha bacon and bacon island dressing added. I didn't get a picture of the fried mac n cheese balls appetizer or the Pork Belly grilled cheese sandwich I ate half of.... Gone too fast..
Overall most of the dealers said that sales were good enough to make the show worthwhile. Hopefully things will return to normal soon so that we can get back to the hobby we all enjoy.

@bigjpst..... Thanks for the report on the bullion ....and the rest of it as well.... Not sure I could eat that bacon burger... I like my bacon crispy
and that pizza looks amazing. Great report.... Thanks...Cheers, RickO
Your culinary pictures makes one think of them as a poor mans version of The Penny Lady's cuisine photos.
Nice!
Nice report
Thanks
hope other shows start openi g
I prefer blue collar palette to poor mans anything.
But that was the point. Underrepresented dining here in the coin forum. If you’re ever in Vegas and want to know a nice restaurant, call someone else. If you want the hole in the wall local restaurant that will feed you to the gills and put your cholesterol to a level that will make your doctor nervous, I’m your man. 😈

Thanks for the show report. Nice coins too.
That burger looks great, I put sriracha on bacon slices so that sounds tasty as can be. Never had a bacon island dressing though.
That '01 Indian cent is a beauty!
Your greatest worry should be clogged arteries rather then COVID-19. That’s some good eating.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......
I stayed at the Barbary Coast many times (and then the renamed Bill’s Gambling Saloon) that is advertised on your Peace Dollar. A funny story from a pit boss there. There was a $1 prop bet that paid 1000 to 1, an obvious sucker bet. I asked him how often it was paid. He answered as follows. “ I have worded here ten years, 40 hours a week. If you would win that bet next hand it would be the first time I have seen it paid”. That’s how they built Vegas! 😊
Dray’s used to be a hot spot at the Barbary Coast in the 90’s. Up until 10:59 you could be eating a bone in rib eye and then promptly at 11:00 people would be dancing on your table.

Thanks Mark. All true. I liked the place when I was in Vegas because it wasn’t a twenty minute walk to the front desk from your room.
I went into the Barbary Coast exactly one time. Sat down at a Blackjack table with a stack of $5 chips and was kicked out within 10 minutes for varying my bet size between $5 and $40. What a small-time joint. Although I may go back for that rib eye steak if I'm ever in Vegas again. I generally loathe the place anymore (although I don't fear it... LOL).
The Barbary Coast always had the reputation of throwing out card counters and shuffling early.
