Beginning of my Indian Head Quarter Eagle Collection (humble start)

Thank you to everyone that gave me a lot of great advice as I reimmerse myself into coin-collecting. I won the following three coins via auction: 1913 AU 58; 1913 MS 61; and 1929 MS 62. Nothing super special, but always happy to share!!

1913 MS 61:

1913 AU 58:

1929 MS 62:

Humble and gold don’t belong in the same sentence. Nice coins.

These are my favorite coins. I enjoyed collecting the whole set (AU58 - MS61, some CAC) and they would be the last coins I sell.

Out of curiosity, why did you buy two 1913's? I would keep the one with the most eye appeal (not necessarily the higher grade btw) and sell the other to put those resources into another date. I've seen AU58's with awesome eye appeal and MS64's for example that looked like junk/melt to my eyes.

    Enjoy the journey!

Thanks, Matt. So it was a bit of an accident in how I ended up getting both. I was bidding on both of them, thinking I would not win both auctions, as the bidding was so low. I figured I might win one of them, but ended up being the highest bidder on both of them.

    I’m not Matt, but...

Those results could be a good indicator that current values are less than you thought. Regardless, the coins are typically readily available, so in addition to having fun, you have the luxury of being quality and price conscious.
