Check out my "dream coin" newp, first clip I've ever seen on this 20th century type...

I have been looking for a clip on a Barber Half for well over 25 years, I'd never seen one referenced or offered until this coin popped up in a routine eBay search last week. I would like to thank whomever lightly cleaned this coin and knocked the cost down to where I could afford to buy it.

Sharing the seller's pics below, there is also a TruView as the coin currently resides in a new PCGS AU Details holder.

I'm debating whether I should crack it out and put it in the 7070 with the rest of my type set, it seems a shame to destroy a new holder but the pull to keep the set together in one album is strong.

For the curious, clips on other Barber coinage are known but not at all common. I probably have a half-dozen clipped dimes (including an 1892-O) and they pop up for sale from time to time. I know of two or three clipped Barber quarters, I have a cleaned XF in my type set and I have seen an uncirculated 1893-S. I sort of recall seeing an 1892 also, though I can't be completely certain.

I'd keep it slabbed so people don't question it's authenticity, but it's obviously your coin. Happy you found it!

Ah.... crack it out. It will be perfect for the album. There is downside, but not too much.

Keep it in the holder for now unless or until the urge to crack it out overwhelms the urge to leave it slabbed. Then there are no regrets.

Very Nice! I can't think of another Barber quarter.
