I read that Forrest Fenn plans to announce, in the coming days, where he had hidden his treasure. In the spirit of participating in any “thrill of the chase,” whether it was this fun journey, or any other that led you to a particular prize; provide your guess to where you think Forrest hid his treasure before he announces location.

Whoever is closest to announced location will win a 2013 50 cent gold coin from the Canadian mint. Not necessary to play, yet, If you feel so compelled, and are not the winner, maybe chip in a little treasure too for the winner. It doesn’t have to be much, anything.

Rules: If you don’t have a solution to riddle, you may simply choose a State, and town in which you think the treasure was closest too, or, if in a National Forrest, a landmark, or, area that can be identifiable and isn’t too vague. Try to pinpoint an area within a few miles where treasure was hidden.

You can only guess one time.

As soon as Forrest Fenn announces the solution the giveaway will end. Not too sure how he’s going to reveal the solution, so, if he rolls it out slowly, in pieces, then it will end as soon as the State can be determined where treasure was hidden.

Poem:

As I have gone alone in there
And with my treasures bold,
I can keep my secret where,
And hint of riches new and old.
Begin it where warm waters halt
And take it in the canyon down,
Not far, but too far to walk.
Put in below the home of Brown.
From there it’s no place for the meek,
The end is ever drawing nigh;
There’ll be no paddle up your creek,
Just heavy loads and water high.
If you’ve been wise and found the blaze,
Look quickly down, your quest to cease,
But tarry scant with marvel gaze,
Just take the chest and go in peace.
So why is it that I must go
And leave my trove for all to seek?
The answers I already know,
I’ve done it tired, and now I’m weak.
So hear me all and listen good,
Your effort will be worth the cold.
If you are brave and in the wood
I give you title to the gold.

My solution: if someone wants to pick mine they can. Lol. I was not the finder; but, curious how close I was!

I always believed that the treasure was west of Saguache, Colorado, starting along the North Branch of the Spanish Trail, at the base of Trickle Mountain; where warm waters halt. That Mountain is below Sargent’s Mesa, and is why, warm waters halt? Further down, not far, but too far to walk is a creek called Houselog, which has a branch forming Browns Creek. The way the two creeks branch off it looks like the top of a house, and where; Put in below the home of Brown. The word meek stands out to me too, as those two creeks are next to Mt. Lion; From there it’s no place for the meek. I always thought if you followed Brown’s creek you’d find the Blaze where the treasure was located.

I have no idea.... I did follow this for years (the various, fruitless attempts), but never looked for it... did not know enough about the area of origin even. Good luck to all... Cheers, RickO

My guess is in the San Juan Mountains of Colorado, between the towns of Silverton and Ouray and accessible by U.S. 550, also known as the “Million Dollar Highway.”

Has Fenn announced when he will disclose the location where the treasure was found?

Forrest Fenn is old school kind of guy. He most certainly would hide his $1M treasure where gold has been found before. The access route to the treasure wouldn't be particularly arduous. After all, he was in his '70's when he hid it. :|

This is the berm behind my house. I figured the guy back there digging a hole had all he could take at home with the quarantine and was burying his wife. Now I want to guess that is where the treasure is buried.

75 north as the crow flies or 75 by road?

Forrest had some treasure hunters poking in the ground at his residence in Santa Fe. He probably didn't give much thought to the possibility of rank amateur treasure hunters showing up in his backyard looking for a sign that says "dig here." lol

Forrest just mentions "look for more information, and photo's in coming days." Here's a link to site with latest news, posts from searches, and cheat sheet to narrow down areas to search.

The treasure was located either in Wyoming, Montana, Colorado, or New Mexico. If you don't have a solution to the puzzle in those four states, again, you can simply pick a city/town, in one of those four states as a guess. Try to pinpoint a location if your guess is in a National or State park: monument, structure, or, outhouse... :# If you wish to amend your guess to reflect where in park, canyon, etc. you may. Whoever is closest wins. thanks.

If you don't want to participate for yourself; maybe pick a location for a YN, and if you're the closest, I'll give the coin to the next YN I see at coin club meeting, or, local auction. Let's try to keep this encouraging for others who would like to make a guess. Thanks.

Snake River is in Wyoming, a very small part. According to you that is one of the states. You can give your prize to a YN if you want. I hope everyone is encouraged! :)

I don't have a clue so I went to Google maps and pulled up the Rocky Mtns. then randomly clicked a spot.
First click it came up with something with Brown & water. I know it's not the winner but thanks for the chance. :)

There was an update yesterday evening. I'm getting a sinking feeling that the location may not be revealed, at least anytime soon...

I'll float the giveaway for another week. If no location is announced; I will terminate this giveaway, and start a new one with this gold coin, and a little extra to "sweeten" the pot. Anyone who posted prior to my post here; will get two chances in that next giveaway if this one is terminated...next one will be much easier. ;)

I’m assuming the finder met up with Fenn as the caption of the bracelet matches the picture.
