just an old well worn capped bust half, common date

A few weeks ago, MCarney was divesting his 7070 collection on the BST. I inquired about his really nice Sesqui half, but it was already spoken for (Congrats to Airplanenut!). he did have a well worn 1837 half that plucked at whatever strings a collector of old silver has to be plucked. Mike was great to work with and shipped almost instantly. I'm leaving it in the 2x2 ( you can tell that someone really respects their coins when the staple ends are carefully inverted) which causes some annoying reflections in the photos, but I think she's "purt' near perfect."

Looks very nice. Congratulations I would have hit that one myself.
Nice circulated cameo look.
I like that circ cam look to it. It looks much better than my 1838.
Congrats !!!
Love it!

Neat looking coin although I am not convinced it hasn't been cleaned (somewhat).
Nice coin!
I suspect you could always count on Lord Marcovan to step up of it's ever time to sell..😊
Really nice circ cam look...I too would leave it in the 2x2.....Cheers, RickO
I like that crusty look it has to it. Nice score
After reading this I looked at it under a bright light at different angles, and I can indeed see some parallel hairlines on parts of the bust and eagle's wings. But the effect is not too bright; I'd call it a CircCam that had a little help. Thanks for mentioning that.
