I was going through some Morgan culls yesterday and came across many 1888o's. Looking for the famous "Scarface " variety. Are there any markers for this highly sought after Morgan? Thanks :)

Unless the coin is severely worn, I would believe the 'scar' would be the determining factor....Other than that, I am not familiar with any others. Cheers, RickO

Yeah, RickO, Probably the scar is the only true detection pup? I was hoping for others? Thanks.
Note: this is where I found my CC problem coin. Lol

Die crack from denticles thru dot across field, cheek and neck plus across some lower hair. Tilted field die breaks at field and cheek and die chips on face and neck. Terminal die break state.

Wow! Alright, thank you! ;) Even in the lowest grade on this coin can have value. Sure, not any where near the actual physical appearance of the famous "scar" but knowing the coin you have in hand, IS THE VAM can get one excited! ;)

Makes one wonder: what is the value of a scarface without a scar?
