Mint marks were hand punched into the dies at that point. Many variations exist. It is always possible that someone may pay a tiny premium for such position varieties (they are not "errors") but it probably isn't worth the bother of trying to find such a person.

they are worthy to set aside. never know where you may go in numismatics in the future. looking back on these as your first post here may provide a nice smile.

@richerickson58 .... Welcome aboard.... We look forward to seeing some of your collection. As stated above, the MM, when it used to be punched into the dies, could vary somewhat in location... I have not seen any numismatic premiums for these slight variance. Cheers, RickO

Having problems with the pics! Will post once I figure it out. But has anyone seen a 1972 Kennedy half dollar with the D mint mark on the bottom of the Bust and not below the Bust?

I have heard there is a nickel from the 1980s which has a MM which is way off, and someone has a significant standing offer.
Any premium is based on someone's willingness to pay it.
In any case, I like those cents and they are well worth keeping regardless of value.

IIRC the 54-S cent was labeled "the San Jose" variety in the Frank Spadone Oddity book.
