The Catskill Collection

Great Collections is auctioning of coins from the Catskill Collection. Inquiring minds want to know if these coins belong to a long time forum member who just happens to live in the Catskills.

Doubtful, as he often states that he only buys and never sells. ;)

Wait, I live near the Catskills. Drove through there today and the only people I saw were standing waist deep in water with sticks and lines.

Thought for sure we would see photos of the Ricko gun and coin collection hoard. :)

There is another coin collector here in the Catskills??? Where has he/she been hiding all these years? I thought I was the only one....No shops, no shows, no ads..... only antique shops with incredibly overpriced Morgans...I need to find out who this person is...Cheers, RickO

uh, RickO, there's that pesky thing called the internet, right??? you may be the only collector who counts, the only collector of true substance in the Catskills, but you aren't the only one. it's a tough pill to swallow but you know it's true!! B)

Al, you are, of course, correct....It is just that in the last twelve years here, I only met one other person (at a flea market) that had an interest in coins... No shows or shops - other than the antique shop Morgans - So to see what is apparently a high end collection from here (based on the name), is still a surprise. Cheers, RickO

The Catskills is a huge area. You can live in Poughkeepsie, Monticello, Saugerties, Kingston among other places or even have a summer camp here and still have the right to call it the Catskills Collection.

Actually, a consignor can usually name a collection whatever he wants, regardless of where he lives - within reason, of course.😉
