Another 1913 type one buffalo nickel for you to grade .......

Here is another 1913 type one buffalo nickel for you to grade. It is hard to draw a grade from just one set of picture but is
interesting to try to do so. Take a stab at this one.

I could see 66. For a type 1 it's a bit mushy for my taste.

    I like the front as a 67, the back as a 66

MS67 ...I was going to say 66, but took a second look, and then a third ...That is a nice Buff, and I have a 66 sitting by my computer...and from the pictures, yours looks a tad better. Cheers, RickO

It is on Heritage auctions right now and it has been slabbed MS 68 by the guys across the street.
Right now it is sitting at $220.00

Interesting die rotation. 1925-D is another date that's good for that, too.

    I don't think that would sticker as a 66. I'd grade it MS65.

Luster and strike don’t support the grade

I think NGC is becomIng the new ICG. When it first opened it was fairly conservative and strong. Now it has descended to second tier status or close to it.

    UPDATE MAY 31
Coin now sits at $2,100 and $3,120 with the juice. 5 days and 5 hours left to bid on-line.
Wonder how close to 10K this will get?

I don't like it. I was going to say 65 shot at 66.

The metal flow on this coin does not even fill in the cheek and neck on this obverse, they (NGC) must grade from the reverse only which looks Much Better than the obverse, I would not pay that kind of money for a coin that looks the way it does I must be missing something!

Forgot to mention that my 67+ blows the doors off this one.

Obviously, die wear does not impact the grade. We knew that, but to me it does impact the eye-appeal.
