1739 Connecticut Cent / Three Pence Broad Axe

I was left a good number of gold & colonial coins from my grandfather.
I have colonial coins that have been sitting our safe for almost 40 years
now, and I am curious about some of the coins.
The note with this coin is:
1739 Connecticut Cent / Three Pence Broad Axe
I am considering sending this coin in for grading?
Any opinions on it would be appreciated ....
Thanks,
Al / USMC

I'm not an expert with these but I'm sure someone will be along to help.
The photos of your cent & gold coin are much better than these, your best help & responses will come with the best photos you can provide.
I agree with the above...the pictures, while showing a copper coin... are not of enough clarity/detail to give the experts enough information to be really helpful. Cheers, RickO
And there are a lot of later reproductions of these. Most of the originals ended up getting melted to alloy with other metals as they were minted in pure copper.
My best guess is a reproduction. Need better pictures, including the edge.
Looks like a low quality fake made before the Hobby Protection Act took effect.
Almost certainly a copy, better pictures would help confirm.
Take your time and check each image for clear focus before you post them. Use of additional lighting might help the camera focus on the coin surface. Peace Roy

My guess would be a cast copy, thus a fairly realistic rendition of the real thing (to me it's not an obvious replica). Some cast copies are old (1800s) and are desirable to many as collectibles. Nevertheless, I agree with others on here to post clearer pictures so better assessments could be made.
An interesting higley for sure. I wish I could help more but that why these guys are here
