Anyone know if CAC ...

... ever had plans to setup for same-day stickering at any of the big shows?

Please excuse me if this has already been asked/answered.

They did that at a smaller show on a couple of occasions, many years ago. I’d be surprised if they were to do the same at another show in the foreseeable future.

The few years that CAC overlapped with the CoinFest show in CT they would set up at the show for same day evaluation. This might have been in the 2008-2010 time period.

Thanks guys, didn’t know they already did it back in the day ... when things settle down again and shows are up again I’d love to be able to just walk some slabs through ... doesn’t sound likely though .

It's hard for them to do it. JA looks at every coin, so he has to want to attend the show.

And it is easy to send them in with quick turnaround. Their costs go up if they start attending shows as well.

Coinfest is one show that I kinda miss. Fwiw

Although I do understand that JA has to look at all the coins... I would still think that a CAC presence at a winter FUN would generate a lot of interest/business. Not that it is needed, I am sure....and it would be a lot of pressure on the service to do that many walk throughs in such a short period. Yeah, as I think about it, probably not a good move for CAC....Cheers, RickO

He is very accommodating, so if you're ever in New Jersey, he does take in-person "appointments" if you call ahead and ask. I know some people who have taken high value slabbed collections/coins and driven to him to have them evaluated and driven home in the same day.

I mentioned in another thread, I have a couple mid 5 figure pieces I would like to have cac'd, but just scared to mail them especially now. I may look into riding up there myself sometime later in the year, a long drive for me

If they did a show, i could coordinate it with the show venue and make one trip

It would be nice just to do a walk in submission. I got a full box of PCGS OGH & rattlers for examining. I sure would hate having to mail them out. $1000's of dollars worth with many that are difficult to replace if something bad happens.

What you going to do with the coins that don't sticker? I'll give you 10 cents on the dollar for the coins that JA decides that he doesn't like. ;)

I can guarantee that most will sticker, especially the Morgans & Buffalos possibly exceeding that. :o
