Boy, there is a lot of nostalgia here recently for gone members.

As for nostalgia, he's not dead yet. He quietly lurks.

In case you guys have figured it out yet, I am CJ! I just came up with the ColonelJessup moniker as a clearinghouse for my particularly inspired and abstruse postings... ;)B)>:)

    EDIT: Also, Paul is dead.

When I see his name mentioned all I think is “you can’t handle the truth!!” Wealth of knowledge, wish he’d come back and post on occasion. I liked his posts.

I for one know what we're missing and his absence is a gaping hole.

It seems he got out while the gettin' was good. Strategy? Hopefully. It looks like he has abandoned his post......leaving the grunts to their fate............. But that means 3 months in the brig, demotion to E-1(not even a shoulder patch), a significant pay cut, and DISGRACE!.....I prefer to think that the Colonel has made a tactical retreat, is dug in, and waiting to strike at the opportune moment.

Funny that he hasn't posted much since Laurie was banned. Perhaps when Laurie has served her sentence in PCGS prison he will return? I think both of them were always very positive to PCGS grading........or am I missing something?

His profile says he logged in today but I don't really see him post now.

Go back and look at that thread. He went off on me. I didn't go off on him. And I don't know if you remember his expletive laced goodbye message.

I doubt it. He was just as critical as some of us were. I think it has to do with his health. Didn’t he post about having had surgeries and learning to walk again or am I thinking of someone else?

You don’t get it. It’s not a single thread. You’ve been argumentative the entire time you’ve been here. People tire of it.

Hmmm...isn't this you picking an argument with me....?

He does't like me. That is still not because of anything I did to him. I didn't even pick a fight with him. I would not characterize that as something I did to him.

I only suggested this as I have always thought his posts regarding Laurie were not always negative, but rather as a a "negative" admirer of her success. I miss both of them on this forum.

I was only suggesting that Colonel Jessup might be objectively opposed to her being banned.......?

True. And I’ve only been here long enough to catch a snippet of his sharp-witted tirades, most of which I didn’t even understand but enjoyed thoroughly. He carries much more than just knowledge and has a set of stones to back it up. C’mon, he banned the forum! Who does that? 🗝🌎🏁

Q: When does a collector become a numismatist?

A: The year they spend more on their library than their coin collection.

A numismatist is judged more on the content of their library than the content of their cabinet.
