GluggoGluggo Posts: 3,566 ✭✭✭✭✭

I was just curious has their been and ransacking/ looting / break-in’s going on in the major cities involving Coin Shops? I hope NOT I was just wondering since it’s sounding like total WWIII out there with all the protests gone wrong. After all if any thing Protestors are gonna want Big Screen TV’s and not Gold and Silver right?

    One of the positives of there being fewer B&M coin stores than in the past is that there are fewer that could be hit by looters.

    Police are currently driving away protesters and looters from Bellevue Square, down Bellevue Way past Bellevue Rare Coins. I couldn't see if BRC was hit, but in the adjacent strip mall windows were broken out with looting taking place.

    edit, BRC was hit

    My country, ' tis of thee,
    Sweet land of liberty, of thee I sing;
    Land where my fathers died,
    Land of the pilgrims' pride,
    From every mountainside let freedom ring!
    My native country, thee,
    Land of the noble free, thy name I love;
    I love thy rocks and rills,
    Thy woods and templed hills;
    My heart with rapture thrills, like that above.
    Let music swell the breeze,
    And ring from all the trees sweet freedom's song;
    Let mortal tongues awake;
    Let all that breathe partake;
    Let rocks their silence break, the sound prolong.
    Our fathers' God, to thee,
    Author of liberty, to thee we sing;
    Long may our land be bright
    With freedom's holy light;
    Protect us by thy might, great God, our King.

    I wish our actions could approach our lofty ideals. If this country doesn't endure, Liberty will have a hard time taking root again.

    Lots of protestors in Bellevue, WA, right in front of BRC (Bellevue Rare Coins). Looting has also been underway at the Bellevue mall next door. Hopefully the coin store is OK. Banks are being broken into as well. Hope all is well with BRC. They are great people. Fingers crossed.

    A large jewelry store was hit in Tampa, FL on Saturday night where an early estimate of $150,000 worth of inventory was taken. A gas station was burned to the ground along with a Champs Sporting Goods store, a restaurant and tons of other damage. To stay on topic, I hope no coin shops (or any additional businesses) become victims to these matters.

    I would hope Maximum Security measures would already be practiced by Coin Shops, just like a Bank. Any Coin Dealer would also never operate in a low income Ghetto Area or even within reach of hoards of Low Income Criminally Inclined Peeples.

    I lived in Detroit for 2 years and got a really good feel for why , what, who and how others live in those types of areas. Like living in a jungle with all sorts of Wild Animal Life. You have Predators, Scavengers, Vultures, Rats, Cockroaches, and a few Idealist Missionaries out to save the Dregs of Humanity.

    Segregation by Income Level is a Beautiful Concept. The Police are mostly Good and very much needed to keep us out of the Wild West Gunslinger era.

    I think this may be part of the problem we have today.

    Stores were looted in the high rent districts in every major city so location doesn’t matter.
