Nice!
I know a few Sellers that consistently have horrendous images. I keep an eye on them, and have had some nice scores.
Well done!

Me too. Some have decent pics but never show the vibrancy of tone when it is present. I love them too.
I've found taking pictures of toning is very difficult, especially through slabs. Nice pickup!

As they say, when confronted with bad pictures, buy the holder, not the coin.

Wow nice!

Score!!
Super nice pickup based on the original pics!
I am a collector - So I will not buy a coin with a bad picture....Just not worth the gamble to me. Good luck to those who play the game and glad you were a winner - that time. Cheers, RickO
Nice!
I almost did it the other day. Coin was a pcgs gold shield so I looked up the truview and it was lovely. But there was just something off with the color and it just seemed too shady.
I had done good business with them in the past and they've had nice pieces. I didn't wanna ruin a good thing or waste their time. Idk, was a 64 gold eagle, looked legit but.. idk, I'll gamble if I wanna gamble, buy coins if I wanna buy coins.
I've had it bite me in the butt on cheap coins. I'd be so mad on thousand dollar pieces. Especially if it was my own stupid fault, like proceeding on that piece would have been.
Once you learn "the look" you can pick some nice stuff out of bad pics on eBay!
This can be true, but not always.
That is exactly how I feel. I have learned what a bad image can tell you. Sometimes it literally comes down to what you see in just one or two pixels. It makes the hunt even more interesting.
I'm really hoping this coin has steps...........have I lost my mind? It's that one and only date/coin in the series you'd be lucky to find with one step. I'll let you'all guess at what date that is. But it was only $19.

The more qualities observed in a coin, the more desirable that coin becomes!
