Post a picture of a "Beaver" coin in honor of Eddie Haskell

I just read that Ken Osmond had died, better known for his portrayal of Eddie Haskell on Leave It To Beaver that many of us grew up watching. As Wally's smart-alec friend his mouth was always getting him in trouble. It's sort of funny, when the show was running I was Beaver's age and identified with him, but as I got older and watched it in syndication it was the "Eddie Haskell" character that grabbed my attention. He always seemed to be up to trouble.

His best stunt was the time he convinced Wally to help him tie a chain around Lumpy's axle as they hid in the bushes to watch him jerk to a halt. Much to their surprise, when Lumpy took off it ripped off the axle and his car skidded to a halt in the road. The expression on Eddie's face is priceless. He was talented but never seemed to get past the Hollywood tag that LITB gave him.

I think I'll have to watch some re-runs.

    He was quite the character. As an aside from the Eddie character,one of the funniest episodes was when the Beav tried to hypnotize a cat with a coin dangling from a string.

    I hadn't heard about Eddie's passing. That's a sad day. I met him and Jerry Mathers about 20 years ago.
    We had some good laughs. I just happened to run across my autographed photos a couple of weeks ago, while doing some cleaning (Like we all have been).
    They didn't give a cause, he was only 76.
    One of the great sit-com characters of all time !

    We have an entire beaver colony here.... I know I have a couple of Canadian nickels somewhere, but no special beaver coins...Thanks for all the pictures. I did not watch the TV show...it ran from 57 to 63...my last two years in high school and then four years in the Navy....Little to no TV watching then...Cheers, RickO

Anyways I think he gave me about $20 bucks a day while working for him but the best perk was he bought the Beer so I can honestly say I worked on a case with him.............A Case Of Budweiser :smiley: RIP Ken, I'll always cherish the week I spent with you.

    Can't find any coins. But yesterday morning I watched two episodes of LTB while working out. In retrospect the show is seriously funny, sarcastic and very well written. The lines are truly classic. Worth revisiting!

    I loved the old Leave it to Beaver TV show!

    Here is a Beautifully toned Gem "Upper Canada Preserved Medal" that I purchased in the Stack's Sale of the John Ford Collection. I believe it was to be used as an Award for Canadian soldiers in the War of 1812, but never was to my knowledge. Either way it is a beautiful medal, with a (British) Lion and (Canadian) Beaver protecting the Border (Niagra River) against an America Eagle on the opposite side.

    This medal is currently on display at the American Numismatic Association (ANA) in Colorado Springs. Here is a photo.
