Here are nine bust halves all graded the same by PCGS. Two are "plus". What grade and which are pluses?

ANSWER
Congrats to all those who chose MS63. But kudos to those who saw the better and weaker ones.

The 2nd 1827 is indeed one of the 63+ coins. I love the look. Interestingly, it was an ebay coin that upgraded from 62.

The other 63+ was a sleeper. The 1831. Bought as a 62 at the summer ANA show a couple of years ago. I think PCGS liked its originality. Not dipped and retoned as so many "lookers" are. Pluses, in this series, seem to have moved from eye appealing to original lately.

The 1822 is among my favorites. From the Keith Davignon collection. As the consigner, Sheridan Downey said, "There is not a hint of friction on the devices; contact marks are virtually non-existent. The strike is first rate. It was part of the George Plimpton family Hoard...in the 1981 NASCA sale of the Providence Collection."

The 1824 is another ex-Davignon. Aquamarine toning but with a little strike weakness.

The other '27 (the first) was bought as a 61. Great luster and surfaces.

The first '32 was an ebay ICG MS62 I bought for a song. I cracked it. Sometimes you get lucky.

The 2nd '32 came from the Dale Friend collection. The large letters variety with a huge, advanced reverse die break. Tiny spots above eagle's head aren't too distracting.

Finally, the 1835, another Charles Link coin. A little softness to the strike. But I think it's pretty.

Thanks for playing. I have some other ideas for Bust Half fun. But maybe I've played them out.
Lance.
