A black list for Ebay??

Is it allowed to start and maintain a Blacklist of scammers here on this forum.
It could be set up so that only members can access it
it would most certainly help all members, buyers and sellers.
Today is the first day of the rest of my life

I would think the PCGS lawyers might not be pleased to have a blacklist on their site
My recommendation would be to manage a list using google docs or google numbers. I don’t think our hosts would want the liability of such a list here.
How about a great dealer list instead?
That would be a list I would endorse as well. Perhaps with one extra bit saying what specialty (if any) they may have.
I think ANY lawyer would be pleased. Could lead to a great fee to defend you.
RARE....but possible.
I'd stay a good social distance from anything like a blacklist.
Rule #2. If it was a thread I would look but not post.
Using words like “scammers” is almost certainly bound to get you in trouble. Stating facts (as opposed to opinions or conclusions) is less likely to do so.

That would be inappropriate on this forum. Best to make a separate site and give access through a link. Cheers, RickO
You sound like a troublemaker ... let me add you to my list.

I don't see a black list happening here. It wouldn't look good jmo your inviting trouble
Black Lists are Federally Illegal in nature. But hey go ahead start one see what happens.
I would ignore it. Somebody returns a coin and ends up on a blacklist? How do I know it wasn't the seller who failed to provide accurate photos and descriptions? YMMV.
That’s a great point I put the good sellers on that list so only I end up buying from that seller! 😎
I agree with you on both lists. How do I know the buyer wasn't completely unreasonable and is just flaming the seller to get even? There's too many variables to trust a single random opinion of someone I don't really know.
Private businesses can refuse anyone they want. Private citizens can boycott any business you want. This isn't an employment blacklist.
A do-gooders list would be better.

Well Thank you all.
I can see that some of you really get uptight about this. and I am wondering why?
I do not need lessons or the rules read. I am aware of the rules. But the rules say nothing about lists that would or could be a great advantage to most members.
All I did is asking this question: Is it allowed to start and maintain a Blacklist of scammers here on this forum. I never said that I would do it.
there was no hidden agenda...the question was simply a logical continuation of another thread on the forum.
I did specifically say scammers and I did say this Forum.
A simple question...and one poster even accuses me of being a trouble maker????? for asking a question???
I would say a little far fetched.
Blacklist is a terrible idea. There are plenty of legitimate reasons for returns. Why would you block potential customers? This does no service to collectors and is bound to come back and hurt your reputation.

LOL ... who really is uptight here? I didn't accuse you of being a troublemaker, I made a joke. Notice the winky emoji? -->

I agree with your statement my main point is a hard copy black list is never a good thing. I am in the Oil and Gas business. We have a list of past employees we stay away from which comes directly from HR. But it’s under total confidentiality and never on a listed form. That was just my main point.
I myself usually am always willing to give a person a 2nd or 3rd chance in hopes they get past what ever was their past downfall. But that’s not my job to hire I just work along side them . As far as a list for EBay I have no problem with a list but not sure if I would want to totally follow it. I usually listen to the people here on their past problems but I usually am buying on EBay and do not take the time to follow through with their names. But it’s fun to read about it and how the Out come turned out. I don’t think I have had many problems on EBay since I am just usually buying and rarely return items .
employment black lists aren't legal.
Private corporate black lists perfectly legal.
I remember from my youth times about blacklists in taverns. Never saw one, but I assume the bartender kept one [or was given one] and added names given to them by the authorities of those who weren't supposed to be served alcohol.
Since I rarely sell on eBay I don't get returns.
Maybe the solution is to change the term “blacklist” to something more gentle and politically correct.
Like “people that we don’t like” or “asshats: we don’t like”
Perhaps an eBay vigilante committee?
Hunt them down. Why mess with libel when you can go for a real felony?
So, a short list instead?
Actually, I would think the list would be quite long with many on this forum being on it,
I believe he was joking around.
duh
i Share my blacklist with a couple people in my circle of trust.

I have correspondences and emails where the scammer even admits he is scamming ( and getting away with it). Some will rub it in your face.
Pay pal and Ebay know exactly ( by repeated dealings) who those people are. They get banned, then just change their name; but never their MO. It's who they are. We are talking scammers, not tire kickers and legitimate returns. Right ?
I think the original post clarified that.

Who wants to buy my blocked bidder list?
Put it up for auction on eBay.
Well said @Turtlecat👌
Trouble with blacklists are they have no explanations, only opinions and we all have opinions, good or bad.
