Possible 1862/1 3 cent silver in the raw. Need help confirming and grading.

I got this 3 center a year or two ago and was wondering if it is in the XF grade range or maybe AU. It would be worth submitting if AU maybe not if only XF. What do you think?

I am not an expert on these little coins, however, just scanning your picture, I would tend to XF....The experts here may differ...I will watch to see as well... Cheers, RickO

Need a well-lit closeup (in focus) of the date.

The overdate itself is weak and appears mainly as a burr extending downward from the bottom of the 2 on the left side. A more noticeable diagnostic is a die break that runs through the 1 of the date, connecting the left side of the star point with the rim.

My thought is it could be as high as AU 53, but it’s hard to really tell how the surfaces are from the photos. It appears to have re-toned after a dip. Nice variety.

I can't get a good pic of it, but it does have the burr hanging down from the left bottom of the 2. Also it's really hard to get a good pic of the surfaces, but they look AU to me.

It looks like the point at bottom of 2 spiking down

As Ron Guth said, and @BStrauss3 quoted, look for the vertical die crack through the 1 in the date.

Thanks for the info, I will check it later when I get home from work.
Edit to add: I cannot see the die crack on mine, but my eyes aren't what they used to be and the coin is tiny.
