I'm finally having time to get dialed in with my new camera and macro lens.

A while back I upgraded my Canon EOS1 MK II to an 80D, and added a 180mm macro lens to compliment the 100mm one I've been using. I've been struggling with getting the modes set right, but am finally starting to get dialed in. Here are some reshoots of some dimes I posted yesterday, along with one I posted here years ago. Enjoy!
1947-S ANACS MS66. This coin is also PL and looks like a 1950's-60's proof in-hand. Still haven't been able to accurately catch that, but I feel like this photo is getting close:

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Moving on to some Ikes that have challenged me for years. I'm finally happy with these images:

WOW ... your good man ... real good.
Good job!
Those look great, especially the Ikes. The dollars have been a challenge for me that I'll be trying again before too long.
Very nice photos!
I am very impressed. Practice pays off big time. Peace Roy

@cmerlo1....Incredible pictures...all of them.... certainly rank with the best coin pictures here....Cheers, RickO
Welcome to the world of the 180mm macro world👍 I LOVE mine but it’s attached to my favorite camera box, the Nikon D750.
Great imaging my coin brother. Now try cutting back on your bright lights. I find that lower light levels pick up the color and the texture of the coins surfaces much better.
Happy imaging👍
Thanks for the advice- I'll give it a try! What wattage do you use? I'm currently using 3 5000k 1600 lumen LED bulbs.
I'm loving the 180. I'm able to get the camera and lights a lot further away from the coin, which has helped a lot with capturing the luster the right way. I still use my 100 for dollar-size and larger coins as well as slab photos, because my copy stand doesn't go high enough to fit them in the frame with the 180.
