Hey all, I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy. I just got this 1877-S Trade $ and I really like the eye appeal. It's the most common date of the series, but not a common look for a circulated piece. The question is about the PCGS holder. Is this the newest style holder? I looked through the link provided in another thread and can't find an exact match. The difference on mine is the shield on the reverse of the holder. Any and all comments welcome.

PCGS resources page has a holder museum area. Try looking there.
The stacking tabs look like the current version. Would need to see the reverse label to tell for sure.
Very nice looking trade dollar. Congrats
Really like that coin, a looker for sure. Good score.
Sugar magnolia blossoms blooming, heads all empty and I don't care ...
What @Smudge said... it's a good first move. It's an excellent site.
Here's the reverse of the slab pic. I thought I posted it in the first post.
Great coin. No need to worry about the holder. The coin says it all. Detail is more like 58/60. Fully struck too.
It is from the latest generation (started in 2015). There appear to be small changes in that generation but the museum of holders page doesn’t differentiate between them.
I’ve seen at least three different types of reverse within this generation.
1. No shield on reverse
2. Shield on reverse
3. Shield and NFC chip (newest one just recently started)
1.

2.

3.

Sorry I don't know much about holders, but that is a great looking trade dollar!
I have one with the shield on the back too, my guess is these were a printing error but PCGS just used them anyway.

I'm glad you like the coin! It is the most recent PCGS holder, but doesn't have the NFC chip.
