2003 MORGAN DOLLAR COPY

I bought this awhile back at an garage sale. The coin is a replica of a Morgan Dollar with the date of 2003 which was in a belt buckle. The bottom on the reverse it states COPY # BB0103. It feels heavy. My questions are where did it come from? Is it an ounce of silver? What is it worth? There is more toning than the pics display.

I would be willing to bet that it may be silver plated. Have you taken magnet to it?

Most likely China, most likely not silver
I'd think that since it's serialized, it might be a silver round of some sort. Surprised it doesn't say anything on it though.
Collector, occasional seller
Unless it has silver (or a hallmark for it) somewhere on the piece, I would doubt highly that it has anymore silver in it than a few mils of plating.

BHNC #203
most likely brass with a silver plate coating!
Silver plate.
The serial # is designed to make you think it's special.

Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Time to break out a magnet and to do a specific gravity test. Also give us the weight in grams. Peace Roy

Probably not silver ... I assume the BB is for belt buckle and was serialized by the firm producing/selling the item. Have a jeweler check it with a Sigma device....Cheers, RickO
These is a company called, I think, National Collectors Mint that make these Copy morgans. I think I have a 5 coin set that are proofs of the 5 most famous Morgans. They all have the little Copy stamp with a serial number on them. Basically just mil plated silver and really not worth anything. Just basic novelty coins.

These are basically silver plated, and most dealers typically sell them just for a few dollars.
Good I only paid $2 for the coin in the belt buckle. I may give this as a present to my old boss as he collect Morgans.
You hate your boss that much?
