Bucks, but ONLY 5%

I just received an eBay bucks notification. Only 5%. Looks like the days of 8-10% are gone as I have not received one of those in ages...

Got the 5%...it's 3 days (4/21-4/23) so maybe I'll find something. I also sent out some of those seller offers to people watching items (maybe someone will be tempted with the bonus bucks).

It does seem like the days of the 8%-10% are gone as there have been very few offers lately (and I believe the last three have all been 5%). Maybe eBay figured out it wasn't great for business to provide 10% bonuses when the seller fee is also 10%.

I think it is somewhat random. My buy/sell profile isn't anything special (almost no sales this year and a handful of purchases) but I did get the offer.

I’m definitely enrolled. I had eBay bucks to spend from last quarter. I don’t sell anything anymore, though. Haven’t for years. Maybe that’s the difference?

How do you get these? Every time I see a promotional offer from eBay it specifically excludes the "Coins & Paper Money" category.

Got this and picked up a type set album I was waiting to buy. I may look for some coins later but I miss the days of 10% bonus bucks almost every week. Also, trying to cut back a little for the next couple of months due to the uncertainty of future income.

Since last summer they started working with a new bank and their modus operandi changed a lot. I think the lower bucks are a reflection of the new bank... or so I think.

Normally mine are worded: "Qualifying items exclude all items in the following categories... Bullion within the Coins & Paper Money category..." which allows all non-Bullion sub-categories of Coins & Paper Money. I get bonus bucks on most coin purchases...

Since the whole "we have to charge tax due to the politicians" bit kicked in, and I get taxed on anything not bullion or coins, I stopped buying anything on ebay except bullion/coins (our local tax rate is 10%, so that is a big hit and the 5% doesn't even cover that)

And, since the ebay bucks promotion doesn't qualify for anything in the bullion category........that takes that out. So, it is only worth it on a few coin items and, since I got a LOT pickier, those are few and far between

Good timing for me. I was following an airplane model I've been trying to find for months, and conveniently it ended today. I was going to get it regardless, but I won't turn down 5%.

While it’s only 5%, what’s VERY unusual is it came with about 11 days still left in the period to use your eBay Bucks earned in the prior quarter. Back in the good old days when the 8% - 10% eBay Buck promos came almost weekly, they rarely if ever came during the period of having to use the prior quarters eBucks, and if it did, it was always at the very end. So today I searched for something to use my April eBucks on, and at least I was then able to also earn the 5% for “the next quarter” (no pun intended).
