Who next? 1 month before each sport's annual HOF voting, count on each of the top 5 most likely to be elected athletes of that sport to spike in sales.

If you want to be proactive about it, I'd recommend organizing a list of who each of those are, and list them for auctions that straddle voting day, with several days on either end of it.

You're going to continue to see the big star rookies going up. With the current situation of the stock market, it would not surprise me if investors are moving their money into things like sports collectibles, art, etc and away from the stock market. Cards that I see continuing to go up are 1979 OPC Gretzky, 2000 Bowman Chrome Brady, 2003 Topps Chrome Lebron (or any Lebron Rookie), 1989 Upper Deck Griffey, 2011 Topps Update Trout, 1996 Topps Chrome Kobe, 1986 Fleer Jordan (or any Jordan card) etc. It's going to be the big iconic cards of the hobby in high grade that are affected.

From a modern football point of view, it's going to be one of the top young QBs. Since 2016 alone, we have had Dak, Wentz. Goff, Mahomes, Watson, and Lamar Jackson. The 2016 guys have retreated from the highs, but I think Mahomes and Jackson are going to last due to their fan friendly styles.

I'm going for Kyler Murray in 2020 with Jarrett Stidham as a dark horse.

I would say that for continual growth over time Steph Curry should age well with his MVPs, titles, and likely to continue to be in the media spotlight to some degree in the future. Tons of youth relate to him and he changed the way to shoot beyond just the 3 point line. These youth will have disposable income in the next two or three decades to invest in his cards. I think there is value in basketball in comparison to baseball too. It may not be immediate but i do think his cards will continue to rise.

If people are moving away from the stock market now thats incredible. Time to do that was 6-12 months ago. For the first time in forever equities are on sale. But most people are financially illiterate so you are probably right, they sold low equities low and will buy into a massive sports card bubble.

High grade Rose RC’s are 60% off 2016 peak but agree prob underpriced now. Only 400 8s and you can get one for less then the price of a cheesy 90s MJ insert.

I think the focus/interest in Jordan is due largely to the sudden loss of Kobe Bryant, not the current COVID situation.

I agree wholeheartedly with Arthur. Didn’t appreciate the strength of this dynamic until very recently. People are paying up big time for unopened just to have something to rip. The money set aside for vacataions, concerts and the ball park is being diverted to entertainment at home and for those of us who collected as kids, nothing is more fun than ripping packs.

I also think that current Topps
production will be severely impaired. Leading more rippers to turn back the clock. If I could bring myself to sell, this is a perfect time to do so.

I also feel that the 89UD Griffey, and the unopened that houses it, will pop. Even from their current inflated levels.

    Stay safe everyone.

I was looking at some recent basketball modern box prices and I feel sorry for anyone that wants to start chasing modern rips. It would be a min of $2000 buy in just to get a decent amount of packs to open.

I think any lower end 1990-1995 basketball product will increase if there is a chance to pull a Jordan. The 1992 Boxes have already started to run, but I think there are great values in 1993 and 1994.

See comments above. A lot of people coming back into the hobby due to lockdown is certainly a factor. The question is whether we are witnessing a bubble that will burst.

The 1985 Topps WWF Hulk Hogan cards are going up and the 10's I think will go much higher. They aren't obviously as rare or cool as his 1982 Wrestling All Stars but kids pulled them from packs and production quality was low and there are only 13 PSA 10's of his yellow card and only 1 PSA 10 of his blue. It was such a thrill to pull some nice copies from rack packs and I remember buying packs at the Florida Mall in Orlando from Woolworth's in 1985. I think the last public sale is a little over $300 for the yellow and I expect this card longer term to break a $1,000. Time will tell!

I paid $600 for my OPC Hogan Yellow in the past year. I put pics on Instagram and people thought it was a $1,000 plus card.

The print run is so much lower than their Topps counterpart and so one day I expect this card to be much more expensive.

I still have a handful of PSA 9 Topps so if I go and get stuff signed again from Hogan I will probably crack one and try for a Mint red flip. That would be cool.

2003 eTopps Lebron rookies. Supposedly only 10,000 but a lot still stuck at the factory due to the debacle. They are refractors and chrome. The fact they're currently under $1,000 in a 10 when any other of his rookie chrome refractor 10's are easily 5 figures, sometimes 6.

Same reasoning with Durant's as well except his is /1500.

For baseball, Trout's version is /999 and probably his best looking rookie, in my humble opinion.
