She was quite an accomplished sculptor with a long career. She was 80 years old.
I also Talked to her at the show in Philadelphia she was a down to earth person she also signed my Encased Sacagawea serial # 2045 and also a Picture of herself signed to Me, it was heartwarming she will be missed! R.I.P.
Condolences to family and friends....She did a great job on the coin...RickO
RIP. The Sac coin design is one of my favorites. (Not so much the alloy, but the design is beautiful.)
Celebrating a full life lived. I just did a quick cut and paste from Wikipedia, and if my autosum is correct, her artwork for the Sacagawea dollar was reproduced nearly 2 billion times and was likely seen around the world.
An artist's legacy doesn't get much better than that.

Her design is my absolute favorite US coin since, well........... probably since the renaissance of the early 1900s.
RIP
Sorry to hear. The Sac design is the only post 1964 design I can honestly say I really like.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
I was just looking at pictures of some of her other works and was wondering to myself what kinds of coinage she could have produced had she been part of that period and had the same design freedom that Saint-Gaudens and Fraser had. It seems she'd have been a natural choice to design the Oregon Trail Half, too.

Her design is just beautiful. RIP and my condolences to her family and loved ones.

Loved her work, especially the Sac design. Just recently sold off two of her ICG payment specimens.

Here's a warning parable for coin collectors...
Back in 2000 I purchased two prints from her featuring the Vietnam Women's Memorial.

Sad news.
The Sac dollar is what drew me back into active coin collecting.

Thx for posting - I might not have seen this otherwise.
Talented lady. My condolences to the family.
Sad to hear. She is Harry Connick, Jr.'s mother-in-law.
Her dollar design is by far the best of the current coin designs IMO. RIP.
She will always be remembered via the coin.
Forever in my heart RIP
