George III halfpence with Skeleton (or "Scream" painting) Head on Brittania

Been a while since I posted but I thought I'd try to get some opinions about this strange 1770-75 George III halfpence--or more likely, British or American-made imitation-- found in Pennsylvania. Thought it mildly interesting due to it being found in Pennsylvania and that it seemed crude and lightweight (and yes VERY corroded).....But what recently caught my eye is the head of Brittania that...A. Seems to face directly forward instead of three quarters and most of all...B. Has a skeleton face with an expression much like the classic impressionistic painting "SCREAM." Those of you who cannot bear anything less than problem free and VF-35, be forewarned because your sensibilities will be unmercifully assaulted. Still, anyone else see it ?

Looks like the screaming Brit wife!
Did not dig it up myself but it did come with a group of coppers (a few regal halfpence, a few imitation) that included a Machin Mill so I can believe its American provenance. Face shows up a little better in person of course-- and now that I've seen it, I can't unsee it. Perhaps corrosion, perhaps tooling... but maybe being an imitation, purposely struck like that? Will never know for sure unless another one like it turns up.
