" Like a fish out of water..."
Hi guy's. Hope everyone is well and family. The other day, I was heading to my favorite B+M shop. About 5 miles from my home. Remembering at the same shop friday, I came across a Canadian proof set. At the time, it seemed to me it had a scratch on the dime. I believe it was a 1965 P.Set. So I put it back in the pile. Then today, I was thinking, wait a minute! On second thought, maybe it wasn't a scratch? Maybe, it was a wire strike through? So driving half way there, It hit me. I left my favorite loupe at home! This is where I felt like a fish out of water! I felt naked going to cherry pick without my loupe. Sure, I could ask the owner to borrow one but still. Besides, she might not want to because of the virus thing? I was going to turn around but I was almost there. Boy was I upset with myself. I always leave this loupe in the car but for some reason I took the loupe inside my home that day? So when I arrived, guess what? They were Closed! Lol. This is when I knew it wasn't meant to leave my house that day. Lol.

Hang in there brother
Yeah, I hate that. I never bring a loupe on vacation because I never expect to see coins for sale somewhere. Without fail it happens every year and I have to ask to borrow one.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
It's not like I only have one loupe, I have 3 of them but my best one I usually leave in the car for when I go cherry picking. Oh well.

Aren't you a young Buck? If I'm thinking I know your age I wouldn't have needed a loupe at that age to be able to see and know!
Been there, done that !!!
I always leave a loupe in my car. You never know when you'll be away from home and a coin buying opportunity presents itself.

Which is why I have a loupe in my truck, in my jacket pocket, my detecting bug out bag, kitchen junk drawer. I am ready! Peace Roy

I wear cargo pants, and there is always a Zeiss 3x6x9x in my left, lower pocket. Along with a voice/video recorder (thumb drive size), spare magazine and a small multi-tool. If anyone thinks that is strange, you should hear about the contents of the other seven pockets....
Cheers, RickO
You sound like me. I do more turn arounds then straight driving.
Pete
Technically it would be a PL Canadian set from 1965 - but more importantly there are a number of varieties in that set to inspect for (small beads, blunt 5, flipped cent), besides the possible strike through.
Best of luck to you!
I've gotten to coin shows and realized I did not have a loupe either. I feel your pain
The shop was five miles away ... five miles. It's not like you had to walk home!
P.S. We've all been there!

At least it is a loupe. One of my recurring bad dreams is whilst working for Uncle Sam I went to work and forgot my M16.
You gotta look at it as half full:
At least you didn't turn around, retrieved your loupe and went back on the road again.
RickO, you sound like "Hawkeye" on MASH. He was known for being very resourceful. Lol

I bought a half a dozen inexpensive loupes and have them scattered about on long lanyards, hanging around so I can find them; work, truck, part time job, etc...

A good dealer/friend gave me an beat up one. Hey I'm grateful for that part 😔
Hey, you just gave me a thought. Someone should come up with ordinary eye glasses that contain a 10x, 20x or even a 30x maginifications. This way we won't have to fumble with any loupe? No?
