Be careful how you interpret anecdotal data about this virus. The tests that are done are not perfect and there are a bunch of different ways to test for it. Each of these tests have a certain false positive and false negative rate (as do most medical tests). In general, they work correctly but not always. One false negative test somewhere in the treatment course of an individual would look a whole lot like someone who caught it, cleared it, and got it again. In reality, they probably hadn't fully recovered yet. Despite our efforts, there is still a lot about COVID-19 that we don't understand. We will, in time, but it's not giving up its secrets easily. Battles are always understood better through the lens of history than they are in the heat of the moment.

I'm almost afraid it could turn into a scenario where everyone will eventually get it. What if some people who are cured become carriers(or cured people just become immune to the effects). I could go on and on with nightmare scenarios.

Your "what-ifs" are likely best left as "what-ifs" since we are so early in the game on this thing and folks can allow their imaginations to run so very wild that apocalyptic speculation might best be left off threads like this.

Just saw this thread. I am 99% recovered at this point. No fever, no symptoms for 72 hours. I’ve been walking to rebuild my strength and was just helping out around the house but had to sit down. My bp was lower than normal...hoping I just took on too much too fast

Doc just took me off my meds. I lost 20 lbs with the virus, stopped drinking and may not need meds.

...it’s no joke...I quit drinking booze at 336 pounds 5 years ago...I’m 212 pounds today, and still 6 foot 4...liver numbers went from “oh shit” to “gooood boy” in a matter of 6 months. Just get ready for a serious sweet tooth and I wish you well

Glad to hear that @tradedollarnut has recovered / is recovering.

I am pretty sure that I have actually already had, and recovered from, the “Coronavirus” in early February.
My wife and I went to her friend’s Super Bowl party at their house. The next day two of the host family got sick and my wife and I got sick a few days after that. My symptoms started as a mild to moderate sore throat, some aches, nasal discharge, and some coughing. If that were the only symptoms, I would rate it only a 4 out of 10 (with 10 being the worst flu).

However, soon after the first symptoms I developed a severe case of conjunctivitis (viral “pinkeye”) in both eyes. That part was really bad. It felt like I had lumps of oatmeal in my eyes all the time. The white parts were all red. Around the perimeter of my eyes it became so irritated that if I just barely touched them it felt like needles sticking in. And in the morning they would be crusted shut. The skin at the corners of my eyes actually cracked. I went to a doctor and they said it was either a bacterial conjunctivitis or probably viral conjunctivitis, but they made no connection to the Coronavirus. Just in case, I was prescribed eye drops for bacterial conjunctivitis. The eye drops had no effect, which pointed to viral conjunctivitis. Still, I didn’t think it was Coronavirus at that time. But now there are several recent reports that conjunctivitis has appeared with some frequency in those affected by Coronavirus. The news, in general, has under-reported this potential symptom. One of the doctors who spotted the potential outbreak was an ophthalmologist in China. He later died from the virus. My wife only had a mild conjunctivitis in one eye. But she had some coughing and other symptoms (which is unusual for her).

We have fortunately recovered and it has now been over 8 weeks since we were sick. Her Super Bowl host friend also had viral conjunctivitis, but has also recovered. So far our daughter (who is now home and living in our house with us) has remained unaffected.

I think a lot more people have already had it, and at an earlier time, than is generally thought.

That combo has been working all over the World for over a month. It was being touted even before the president mentioned it. Many don't believe it. Hardly any of its successes are being revealed in the major media so I can't blame them for being uninformed. WE (and you) are very lucky your doctors were up-to-speed!

That Z-Pak is amazing. In the last 20 years was prescribed it twice. Cleared up the infection quickly. Disclaimer note: I am not a Doctor nor do I claim to be one on this forum. Nor do I endorse Z-Pak.

You are misinformed. Many folks who recovered have tested positive again. FACT and not something "I understand."

Those folks never tested negative in between positive tests. Stop spreading misinformation.

There are a lot of posters on other boards who claim to have had some or all of the CV symptoms, but their doctors told them otherwise after testing. My wife and I went through the same "creepin crud". Mine wasn't bad but lasted 3 weeks. She says that hers is still lingering.

Usually Covid-19 patients don't have a lot of upper respiratory symptoms. Rhinorrhea was supposedly not a symptom unless the CDC revised its earlier position.

I'm almost certain I contracted coronavirus in March. I was exposed to it by an individual who tells me he shook hands with a friend of his who had flown to the US from Japan. Individual tells me he got sick and then a few days later, on Friday the 13th March I noticed a cold coming on. Whatever it was manifested as the worst "cold" I have ever had. I don't remember the last time I had a cold, much less a cold like the one I am just now getting over, a month after onset. I got a pneumonia shot in February that may have helped with milder symptoms in me than if I hadn't gotten the shot. Will be asking my doctor about this later. Also, I'm keenly interested in whether I have Covid-19 antibodies or not.

I just read that: "Around a third of participants in a Massachusetts study tested positive for antibodies linked with coronavirus, according to researchers. The Mass. General study took samples from 200 residents on the street in Chelsea, MA. Participants remained anonymous and provided a drop of blood to researchers, who were able to produce a result in ten minutes with a rapid test."

The folks didn't even know they had come into contact with the virus at some point. Most of us are still going into stores, gas stations, or just going outside. I'll bet the % of members here with the antibody and no ill effects is at least the same. Others like TDN become severely affected and a small percentage of the population do die.
