The 1982 Large Cent/ ADDED; an actual Large Cent!
Morning guy's and Happy Easter!
Found this Cent in roll hunting yesterday. I'll let you be the judge. Is it a DD or not? Thanks guy's!

Looks like machine doubling. That's my default theory unless what I'm seeing strongly disproves it, and in this case it does not.
Nothing is as expensive as free money.
Not. MD. Just my opinion.
I also think it is machine doubling. However....suppose it was a DDO. Given the high magnification you used, would it have much added value? One can find all sorts of surface peculiarities if the magnification is great enough.

CJ: 'No one!' [Ain't no angels in the coin biz]
That is machine doubling....Continue searching...Like the 'motto' of a popular TV series...'They are out there.'
Cheers, RickO
Happy Easter! Is this a zinc? I see a lot of the split on the N in cent on zincs. And then you can also see MD. Could it be both, United looks awful thick.
The '82 bronze ddo only lists at 150.00 for a 67.
Most of what you show is obvious MD (do you know the signs?).
Plus, you see something on both sides. There are coins known to have DDO and DDR but they are exceedingly rare.
If you think you have a DD start by comparing to known examples. If it is an exact match then you have something.
In my experience, collectors don't really pony up for DDs unless they are more obvious. Also, do you think your coin would grade 67? Is the 1982 DDO cent in The Cherrypickers' Guide? This set of books may be of some use to you.

I'm leaning toward MD
Happy Easter to you also.
Me thinks it's md. Nice images. Peace Roy

Wow, was I disappointed. I was expecting some rare and unique large cent and all you posted was a 1982 large DATE cent
Seriously
It's flat and shelf-like. Classic characteristic of mechanical doubling. Plus, there is no evidence of split serifs. And as @JBK said, finding a DDO and DDR on the same coin would an incredibly rare event. I'm sure there must be a few DDO/DDR coins out there, but I don't know if any.
Thanks guy's for all the reply's and help! Sure, I am aware of the obvious "shelf-like " MD. I was just confused by the heavy or fatness of other letters, as shown?
Thinking, maybe this may turn out to be a DD? I guess now through you guy's assessments that it truly is nothing but the dreaded MD. Thanks again.

Here is a "Large Cent" I just purchased Friday! I was hoping it was a Variety? Nevertheless, I love this coin.
