Tried to verify a PCGS coin being offered in an auction.

I got this response, "We're sorry, that certification number was not found. Please double check the number and try again". Is it a counterfeit coin or slab?

link to the coin, please.
It's in a Heritage auction ending in a couple of days. Inquired Heritage but the email says that it might take several days to respond.
@kuwegg57....Give specific details so it can be checked by others and multiple queries at Heritage will get action. Cheers, RickO
if it's in Heritage give us some help if you want us to help you, don't be so vague.
I was waiting for Heritage to respond. But this is the coin

Yep ... invalid. I'm sure there are people here that will be of great help to you .
Coin and holder are okay, and I don't think they are counterfeiting CAC stickers yet. Heritage is not going to sell a fake PCGS slab and coin. That being said, send PCGS an e-mail with pics of the coin and I am sure they will get it corrected.
Do not recall seeing a newer slab with a bad cert number before.

Hello kuwegg57,
I handle most questions about auction lots. I see that your inquiry arrived after I left the office yesterday and will ask that PCGS be contacted on Monday. I can't promise what they will do or when, but I can tell you that we guarantee the authenticity of the coin and the holder.
I am going to reply directly to your Heritage inquiry as well, so that you will have my contact information.

Comes up on the CAC website as verified bean.

This happens sometimes. It is usually a glitch and can be easily fixed. PCGS being temporarily closed doesn’t help though.
A wise move to check. In this case, I suspect a PCGS database glitch.

Yup. It happens.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
Super cool that Heritage had someone in the forum to respond. Great customer service!
