The money in the White Purse includes 1, 2, 3 and 4 silver penny pieces, the sum equals the number of years of the Monarch’s age.
This year the purse will equal 93p as Her Majesty turns 93 on Sunday!

Cool send some this way
How do they count the queen's age for the purposes of Maundy coins? Maundy Thursday was on April 18th this year so the queen was not yet 93. Was 92 or 93 used for this years count?
And the queen was bravely shouting what the hell is going on. With a blood curdling tally ho she charged into the ranks and blessed all those grandma's who with their dying breath screamed thanks. Jig Saw Puzzle by the Rolling Stones a I recall.
That sure beats our W mintmarked quarters.
So true! But still hunting the Ws.
QEII's advanced age is a blessing in that regard - more coins given to the poor - they usually sell them to collectors for decent sums.
To have those coins, handed to you by the queen herself is cool off the charts!

I could dress up as the church lady from SNL and step in the line.

This year the Queen could not attend the service in person, so the coins were sent by mail to recipients.

I wonder what it feels like to have your face struck on so many coins?
Long live the queen 🇬🇧
I loved seeing her address the country. She looks and acts amazingly well for someone her age!
I will be looking to buy a set!
Looked for Maundy coinage at F.U.N. in January of with no luck.
I've seen sets available online.

The Queen is a fascinating woman!
It takes an amazing person to do the job she does, until she was 10 she had no inkling that she might become queen someday as her uncle David(Edward VIII) had assumed the throne in 1936 when her grandfather George V died. In the 68 years she has reigned she has gone through many prime ministers starting with Winston Churchill.
I do wonder, is her portrait on more coins than Abraham Lincoln's?
She may outlive Prince Charles.
Im currently working a monarch type set of these- fairly easy to acquire but can be pricey. These go all the way back to about 1673, so there are roughly 17 different kings/queens to collect, with three different Victoria’s in the mix. I go for bright white, the 1d with toning makes it impossible to see (only 11mm diameter)
