Not an Ike. I have an encased Kennedy. Pondering myself If I should free it from it's tomb. Sure, not a significant coin or even Silver. but the condition of the coin is what I see. The fields are pretty nice! Nice premium for high grades? The fuzziness you see is on the acrylic, not the coin. It's a 1971P
In a 66+$425
In a 67 $2500

I wouldn't free it unless I was very, very confident of the grade. You could spend a lot of time and effort getting it out (losing the novelty value of its current configuration, in the process), only to find out the grade you got wasn't worth it.
Yeah, you're probably right? Although, I'm really hopeful on a 66+, esp. 67! Man. I know, dreaming right? Yes, I could damage the coin by breaking the acrylic. It does look pretty clean. Thanks for the info. Keep on with your Ike's.
One more Thing...To think, that this coin can be very well stuck in this plastic for almost 50 years? Wow!

Now that I have the "slab" in hand, the coin looks better than the seller's photos, and the lucite cube makes for quite an attractive presentation:

Funnily enough, it arrived inside a box packed with plastic bags, within which it was protected by the object below.
The product name is for a CPAP mask, and I thought, "how could you possibly wear this on your face while sleeping? It's just a plastic tub with no cushion at all." I finally figured out it is the container the mask was packaged in - LOL!!

So is mine!

I gotta get me one of those. The ones posted are real nice!
I wonder how long (and how much) it would take for acetone to free those coins from their 'slab'? Cheers, RickO
Nice I like
That's another Ike dollar variety on my Ike variety target board.
Nice!

They really went to town making these paperweights back in the early 70's, it would seem
I have another one at home that had a small clock in it, I think. Not sure where it ended up
The 70's were big on things like this, as well as the coins in the acrylic toilet seats. Anybody remember those?
I can imagine people that have those when they get desperate for cash? Fill in your own imagination.

I've been looking for an encased coin worthy of being rescued from it's acrylic tomb. The hunt continues. Peace Roy

A lucite cube slabbed Ike shipped in a CPAP mask container. That’s gotta be a first in history. 😆
