Toned Gem 1829 Bust Dime... You Won't See One Nicer Than This!
I've been holding onto this beauty since 2003, as you can see in the "JK '03" signature. I dare you to find one that's negatively nicer than this one. Happy April 1st, my friends.

I remember this one. Weren't you attempting to find or create a coin with the most negative adjectives on an ANACS cert?
In honor of the memory of Cpl. Michael E. Thompson
I dare say I succeeded!
They even took the barcode off to give me another line of descriptors. I still have the submission form somewhere which lists even more than what's on the slab. It was a random idea that came into my head during a conversation at the 2003 Summer Seminar, and I ran the idea with an ANACS grader there who gave it his blessing. When I got home, I located the right coin and took it to the Baltimore ANA later in the summer so all the details could get written down lest it accidentally be graded normally.
I remember that from a while back
Now that is certainly a candidate for the UHF (Ugly Hall of Fame)...
Cheers, RickO
That one sure has it "All" it will fill all the voids in your album!! It's a keeper.
"Damaged" just seems to me like piling on.
Superb.

Special.
Nice!
It got shot!
"Net Po 1"
Yep. definitely a po' one.
harshly cleaned as well ;-)
You should have had it attributed too. Might have gotten a second label.
Lance.
Did you consider filing the rim a bit before handing it over to ANACS?
Truly worthy of the newly announced 'POS' designation, and it should be a lock for a star as well.

I didn't have many useful tools, so that's just a nail being hammered in (plus a few failed attempts). Nails to not create clean holes.
That's how it started (I wouldn't have done this to a coin that wasn't already looking terrible). You can see that mostly by the date, which is where the pliers were holding it when I put it in fire to darken it up.
Overgraded ... it should be Net Poor 1/2.
Looks like a wordy way to say, "CRAP". That dime is missing everything.
Hahah - I still remember that coin from my earliest days on this forum!
Looks like it was found in a 200 year old safe
Early American Copper, Bust and Seated.
I remember it. Fun coin.
Can you send it in for reconsideration, suggest they reduce the font/add a 5th line, and mention "corona exposed" ?
I see a CAC sticker for this in the future.
jom
And lose the old style holder? Never!
