Will World Events Cause Any 2020 Rarities

RichRRichR Posts: 3,930 ✭✭✭✭✭

First off...I hope everyone is safe and well.

As I saw that the Mint is understandably delaying releases...does anyone think any issues or sets will become an exceptional rarity because many people are distracted (or economically impacted) an won't make their usual purchases?

There is always the possibility that a sick mint employee loses their attention span while the coining press goes kablooie and lots of error coins are added to the mix. Just saying. Stay healthy and wash those hands. Peace Roy

Not likely but who knows? Anything is possible these days.

Relatively there will possibly be less need for coinage next year like with 2009.

So what's being delayed so far?

  • dlmtortsdlmtorts Posts: 743 ✭✭✭

For now, there will only be a few trillion dollar bills.

The only rarity for 2020 that I can think of is a coin show attendance. :)

I understand that Collectible Toilet Paper is crashing, some will be "wiped" out.

All paper money eventually returns to it's real value - zero. Butt some paper money is worth even less than zero, particularly if it was used.

Maybe commenoratives that have been made, but haven’t been released yet for events that won’t take place? Like Tokyo 2020 for instance....
