Trinity Parish New York

I was quite astonished to find this in France.
A Sunday School Honors Medal from Saint Agnes Chapel Trinity Parish New York. Sterling Silver, still in collectable condition, about 30 mm for 12.40 g. Built to face growing population in 1890 - 1892, the Saint Agnes Chapel was torn down in 1944.

That is simply remarkable.
I’m assuming it woulda been given to a child for excellence in their Sunday school studies? I never did the Sunday school thing and had idea awards would have been given?

I'm assuming you bought it?
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
A nice medal. I may have bought it if I had seen it being offered.
Given the history you added my wife speculated that it may have been lost by a US soldier in WWI. It’s amazing the history that piece might hold.

I love it!!!
I bought it last year with a lot of world medals.
Perhaps some migrant back to Europe? Perhaps a good luck token of an American soldier?
Interesting piece and sterling silver...was indeed an award of significance back then. Cheers, RickO
