I Live in San Diego.
"They" Sent my package to Los Angeles and then quickly sent it to New York City.

Or just leave it alone for a week, but coin people just can’t do that.
New study says the virus can live for 17 days on a surface
Looks like someone put it in the wrong bin
Collector, occasional seller
3 weeks.
My wife would not let me bring it into the house.
It would have to be a stealth operation and I am not good at stealth.
I would be a spy for like an hour before I got whacked.
Maybe this is a "make work" program for the airlines.
You mean that someone put it on the wrong plane........................
Pete
what happened to scanning? i.e . scanning computer setup should have recognized that your package was at a wrong place.,,,,???
Lysol the box, open with gloves, get the coins out then burn the box!

That should do it!

So there must be other decontamination chemicals. 60% alcohol?, bleach solution? Acetone wipe down? Inquiring minds want to know. Peace Roy

I think they recommend you then pack the ashes in a lead pipe and bury them at least 12 feet underground !
and tell no one .......
Dip it, wipe it, whizz it.
@ErrosOnCoins
I hear you ... been there... no more for now.

After waiting so long ...I wasn't thinking and just opened them. So ... how right you are.
I would just spray each layer as I open it with isopropyl alcohol until I get to the prize.... and then spray that too.
I have a coin coming too and that is my plan.
Great transactions with oih82w8, JasonGaming, Moose1913.
New York..... Hong Kong..... Los Angeles
If you’re that concerned about getting the coronavirus from a package, put the package in the garage and don’t open it for 3 weeks.
I just ordered more 5 NGC plastic boxes as they are still open. Hope they ship out today
I had a shipment from PCGS that went to Guam and Hawaii on it's way to me. My last package to PCGS went to New York (normally it would go to Denver)
If it ends up in italy or spain id leave it alone or collect the insurance. Fwiw
Speaking only for myself... I wouldn’t worry about it. I’m getting packages of every sort this week including one tomorrow or the day after with a couple of coins. If I were to take precautions, I would open the boxes as normal, take the items out and wash my hands. Or, if I’m feeling very nervous for some odd reason, I’d just wear some latex gloves and open everything and dispose of the gloves.
That should do it. Your chances of getting the virus from a coin in a slab is slim to none.
It is the outside packaging that concerns me so it will be disinfected.
Most likely 91% alcohol the slab as well to be safe.
Everything has been touched by someone at sometime.
I just open the packages as normal....had several the last week or two... couple more tomorrow. Hand washing and limited outside excursions.... Cheers, RickO
I agree.........Apparently my company is 'essential' here in Massachusetts so we are working as usual.
I open packages and try to wash my hands.

Looks like I will be washing my hands today after gassing of course

What do you mean by gassing?
Lysol is a gas so Lysol
Open the package, Take your stuff out. Throw package away. Wash Hands. That's all you hafta do.
Pete
I open as normal, throw away packaging. Wipe down with an antibacterial wipe, wash hands and done. That being said, I am currently under quarantine ( I work EMS ) so maybe you shouldn't listen to me. LOL
Have it routed through Seattle just to make sure.
Doesn't the Postal Service still irradiate everything like they did after the Anthrax attacks after 9/11?
