Dirty Gold
Has anybody seen the Netflix Docuseries titled Dirty Money? S2:E4 is titled Dirty Gold which outlines how gold is mined illegally in Peru, shipped to the US, bought by Refining Companies in Florida who in turn have sold gold blanks to the US Mint.
Well worth the watch since it kinda blew me away as I was always under the impression that Gold Eagles had to be produced from gold mined in the US.
The name is LEE!

Watched it last night. My favorite quote in the movie from the young peruvian narrator in spanish:
"A necessary end to things...comes when it is most needed". That pretty much sums up the ongoing collapse of the world financial and credit markets.

It only continued about 15 minutes of actual information stretched out over 60.
It seems that if S. America won’t enforce its own laws regarding gold mining, then there will always be eager corporate buyers for it in the US willing to turn their heads to make a deal.
With the current record gold prices I can’t imagine anything changing anytime soon....other than a large increase in all related illegal practices.
