    Left brain, right brain issue for me, but I do look forward to what those with artistic skills come up with.

    He offset the old time major NY dealer who could not be bothered to show me a J-228 in his case because I was just a twenty-something collector. Sometimes people don't realize that a large act of rudeness can be remembered for decades. He has been dead a long time and good riddance. LOL.

    Does this count? Last time my daughter went to the pottery decorating place, she decorated a small planter. I passed the time making a coaster.

    It does, we accept all forms of art for this giveaway!

    Thanks @dcarr

    I’m just working with what I have on hand for reference, common date Saint in 4! Coin collecting tends to make us all forensic detectives, but my take away from painting coins is that if you really want to know a coin, paint or draw it! You really have to study all the subtleties like never before. It’s pretty cool really.

    One other thing I’ll share about painting is I’ve learned to buy a frame at a thrift store, like this one, and make a painting to fit. Buying frames new is an eye opener. Cooler to repurpose anyway and the old plaster ones are not readily available today. I look for cool frames at second hand stores and build up a stock and when I get the notion, I cut the canvas to fit. Usually plywood or Masonite. I love the backside of Masonite for its texture. I have to believe that the old masters would have killed for plywood and surely used it over a bouncy canvas if they had it avail. And you couldn’t razor knife it from it’s frame either!

    With that said, I always go for high texture waves of paint when your up close but as you stand back the picture becomes readable. Has to do both and at least what I’m striving for. I’m always drawn to that in other artist works I see. Why paint a photo when a photo will do just fine? I say paint an impressionistic feeling.

    I love to see your creations folks. Thanks for posting yours!

    This is going to be interesting for sure.
    Great art already.

    @PCGS_SocialMedia
    Does it have to be coin related?

    Coin or currency related. We've posted a lot of different entries on Instagram that we can share here to help everyone get a better feel for the variety we've received.

    Use a PCGS trueView. Art in it's basic, grass roots form.

    This is something I've been working on for awhile, already posted on Instagram...

    I don't have the actual coins in some of the slots, but this what I hope it will look like when done, plus I want to do an actual working clock.
