Got a hold of a Brinks never-unwrapped 1987-D Lincoln Cent roll. Found this coin in there and didn't know what to make of it, any ideas? Third party graded MS66 but not a variety. Thoughts? It's kind of like a feather sticking down from the back of Lincoln's head.

My guess is the plating is bubbled.

Looks like a plating bubble. Still real nice.

Plating blister, as others have said. These are common in copper plated Lincolns, especially earlier ones. There is also one on the neck and a few other small ones.

IMO, plating blister are undesirable on higher grade Lincolns. There is always a chance that it was caused by dirt/contamination left on the planchet and could corrode the zinc over time, especially if the copper plating is breached. Slabbing does help minimize the chances
