A lot of great information is exchanged here. Learning is NEVER a waste of time.
Cheers

No, not to me.
It's a time suck if you don't value what you're reading, but continue to read it anyway (e.g. Facebook, for me!). I value a lot of what I read here, so not a time suck, IMO.
Rocking my "shiny-object-syndrome"!!!
Time suck = Wasted time This forum is anything but wasted time.
Question for those few forum members that voted "Yes"---Why are you still here if you think this place is a "time suck"?

Yes, but that isn’t a bad thing. It just means a lot of interesting things going on.
A BIG NO! If anybody thinks it is they should just stay off.
Next year will be my 20th year here.
Quite the contrary. This forum actually helps keep me engaged in the hobby.
Mine too! November 2021
It can be both a time suck and useful at the same time, all the parking lot coin threads may be considered a time suck to some and others may consider them comic relief.

Never a slave to one plastic brand will I ever be.
Absolutely ... Not/No.
October 2021 for me.
It is valuable, informative info source, like to read with morning coffee.
I’m much appreciative of being a forum member, to me it’s having the best of the best at the touch of my fingers. I learn something new here every single day, between seeing beautiful coins and watching old men argue... you can’t pay for this kind of entertainment
I feel confident that if I have a “Serious” question or a situation that might arise, World class collectors, dealers, researchers and authenticators are here to help me out. Very thankful for the opportunity to be here.
When I first joined a member said “Read the room” I’m old enough to know what that meant, but not numismatically educated enough to run with the conversation. I’m really starting to pick up on the verbiage of the forum and with my personal study I feel I’m started to get my feet under me a bit and would like to contribute to the conversation a bit more when I feel I have something meaningful to add.
It amazes me that the people who post here have written books, testified as a expert witness, been professional graders, attended famous auctions and purchased/sold world class coins...
So no the forum is not a time suck, I consider it an education and a safe guard for my wallet.
Thanks Boys
Not for me. I enjoy the threads I find educational/interesting. And disregard the thread topics that I consider a waste of time.
Great info, great people, social interaction, eye candy and just a whole lot of fun.
This is a great place to be!
Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

No. Not at all.
Some threads certainly are. Not necessarily this one......
I don't think so, but someone who'd rather I be getting around to something else might.

Never come here without finding something well worth reading.
I do. I really, really do!!! Comedy is good! Wherever you can find it!
I have become quite fond of the forum. The only place I have to show of my coins. No one at home is interested.
Well, I haven’t gotten a US Coin Forum you suck yet

Not at all... I have learned many things over the years here.... actually about 22 years....The forum totally regenerated in 2001 and we all had to 'rejoin'...so, next year will be the 20th anniversary of this forum iteration....This is a great coin forum with incredible experts available for consultation. It is also well regulated to keep conversations topically consistent. Roll on coin people.... have fun...Cheers, RickO
...the new Mark Wahlberg on Netflix kicks major ass...time suck on that one
I just voted yes, but my reading of "time suck" was only that I spend a lot of time here on the forum, not that it is a waste of time.

What is a time suck?
Are you reading this?
I don’t always have time to kill, but when I do I like to take a spin through the threads here. Read them while in waiting rooms or with morning coffee. On a rare occasion, I have even started a few.
It’s a great way to calibrate ones hair trigger BS detector.
no not in the least bit. theres always something to learn here on pick up on
I do spend a lot of time on here, but I do not consider it a time suck.

No. But.
When I login and the entire forum is full of posts, I often just "mark all viewed" and move on a bit later.
I've found that the content is more interesting when there are fewer, better posts.
Elitist? Hell yes.
This place rocks in my opinion!

My enjoyable time.

Major time suck for me.
So much great information is being exchanged, IMO, it's easily the most valuable numismatic site on the Web. But still a time suck!
Love this forum - Thanks PCGS!
Dave
Interesting post. As I scrolled through the posts I noticed the overwhelming number of master collectors (5 stars) that responded. I deduce that this forum might be a contributing factor to that 5 star position. I enjoy it and might spend a bit more time here than I should but it is NOT wasted time!

I voted maybe. I consider it a "loss leader" that enables me to get down to the real nitty gritty in the Sports Forum.
That's where the real fun is....

Asking the question is a time suck.
I voted yes, simply because it is a time suck.
it takes alot of my time.
NEVER WASTED.
just always on here
Not sure. Let me think about it for a few hours...
I said "maybe"... I get a lot of very useful information on this forum and, it's fun! But, I can see if someone is more engaged here instead of work (to buy more coins...) I could see it as a time suck...

Good point.
Not even in the slightest.
Great people with huge amounts of knowledge.
So much info can be had. Super resource.
My collecting has really changed for the good since being here.
Thanks to you all!
Also bought and sold some here.
