I happen to be in one right now! Anyone else afflicted with this disease? It happens to me every year or so.

You should try a selling frenzy in the near future to gauge how well you are buying. It can be an eye opener.

I hear you. Funny thing is I am just coming off one of those! Most of my buying has been pretty decent.

I used to have this affliction but I've toned it down and am way more selective, now.

I have sold some of my dupes and lower graded material......I've won some and lost some. An important thing to remember is to have patience, when you sell....You should sell because you want to and not because you have to.

Yes, NEWPS still get me excited, when I buy them.

Sometimes, it’s better to be LUCKY than good. 🍀 🍺👍

Good advice. Thank you for that.

My buying 'frenzies' stopped many years ago.... Now it is just the occasional 'wow' piece - might be appearance, history or some personal connection....Getting older has advantages :D Perspective is one of them....Cheers, RickO

Back when I was a more active vest pocket dealer, and had some good wholesale connections, I did indeed have 'buying frenzies', when the opportunities presented themselves. The market was a lot more active, and
less selective back then, and good $ could be made fairly easily. Not so now.

Probably my last numismatic-frenzy was when silver was ~$14oz, acquiring 90%.

My last buying frenzy of any kind was adding to my REIT and other high divi yield positions in the mkt Fri morning.

I have been finding some really nice and cool coins. It seems to come in groups for me. I will go months without buying and then I will find a bunch of stuff that interests me. I do end up making purchases I regret but not many. I just scored big time on a beautifully toned Peace Dollar. In my mind a real wow coin!

I look for deals 2 months before Christmas and after Christmas until and through, February . Generally it pays off.

The bitterness of "Poor Quality" is remembered long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten.

This is the time of year that I usually find a bunch of coins. It is also the time of year when I sell a bunch of stuff. Funny how that works. Out with the old in with the new.

Yep, currently afflicted. Buying coins and gold/silver.

GSAs, OBW rolls, Seated, Walkers. Anything old and Colorado-focused, CO nationals.

Gonna get me a $50 Octagonal someday. Some. Day.

Haven't bought or sold anything in 3 1/2 years and I don't see anything changing soon. Am missing three coins for my type set. They are almost impossible to find in a condition acceptable to me, and they are very expensive by my standards.
