Updated new additions to my cap and rays 8 reales set (M&E updates!)

Listed as scarce in DNB.


The 1834 is an overdate ! Listed in DNB as very scare .

    Top pop at both services NGC (2 in 63 )

    PCGS top pop is a 62

    This 8R is listed in DNB as very rare . Bought raw ( not cheap 😄) at Morten Eden Mexican Auction 2019

    What the slabs do not say is that all the 8 reales purchased by me at the above auction are traced to Clyde Hubbard provenance.

    @bidask Based on your past comments here, I would have been guessing that you had to hold a lot of clients' hands this week! Very nice coins & like the Clyde Hubbard provenances too.

    Dan - invest in decent photography. These are great coins yet iphone doesn't do them justice. Even the PCGS image is an option - here are some of yours.

    I like that 1877Cn... has an almost watery look to it in the PCGS image (though I can never get a great read on surfaces/look from those).

    If you're bored, snap a quick front/back of that piece with your camera, a la that 1873Go you just posted.

    I wish Mike Dunnigan would do a second
    edition of his classic RESPLANDORES.

    I’ve noticed in crossing some 8 reales
    that NGC and PCGS differ sometimes on varieties.

    I have had several discussions with Mike ......he is extremely learned in this series.....way over my my head.

    I plan to go to the Texas Numismatic Association show in late May to hang out with him ...if they have the show.

    my effort to cross 6O NGC slabs various dates all cap&rays 8 reales .

    63.33 % success rate or 38 coins crossed .

    Pretty pleased ;)

    Think I’m done crossing for awhile .
