Coin show currency

I’m planning on heading to Atlanta for the ANA show this Thursday. This will be my first time to attend a show. Other than cash, do most dealer accept credit/debit cards? What about personal checks or PayPal? Hoping to spend some money, don’t really want to take a wad of cash, just want to be prepared. Thanks.

I'll be at the Atlanta show with just the checkbook - works for me every time!

Once you’re a “known entity” and you can provide references, it’s easy. “Hey Larry, is this guys check any good? Yeah, OK....” Until then, everyone takes cash.

Worst case scenario is you give the dealer a check and he mails you the coin when it clears. I’ve done that a time or two. Most of all have fun.

Cash is usually preferred, but if a major player in the room knows you are OK, that will usually suffice.

I allow people to use my computer to pay with Paypal. I don't eat the Paypal fees though!

  • Thanks for all the answers! By the way, I asked another question posted on the “Q&A forum”, if anyone can help I’d appreciate it. Thanks.
