Up to a whole 3 coins now! I am picky because they are a lot more expensive than my usual buffalo nickels and walkers.

I'd like to string together a set of these from 1908-1916. The 1929 is a "bit" out of reach for me. (bit of an outlier anyway, no?)

Joe @crazyhounddog shot these for me and did a great job as usual.
Feel free to GTG if you want!
OGH MS63

OGH MS64 CAC

MS64 CAC

MS66 taste on an MS63 budget.

Those are beauties! I'm putting together my second date set of the quarter eagles of this design.

Way to go!! I am also trying to do the same set as you without the 1929. I am going to try to have them all be an ms62 grade(would also love if they were all CAC) Oddly enough I am 3 coins into the 9 coin set as well. Your 3 have way better toning than mine. I am looking mainly for coins with super clean fields since the majority of this series has a fair amount of scratching in the fields. Congrats and keep me updated, my set will take me into 2021 for sure, a nice 1916S is hard to come by.

I'm (perhaps foolishly) trying to achieve both at the same time, date set of half and QE's.

I will probably settle for a 16-S in au58, but yes I expect this to be the stopper simply due to quality issues.

Good luck with your set. I have bought 2 already this year, which is a pace that will likely not continue.

That is also where mine reside, most of the time.

Those look great. Nice old gold look to all of them. Edit to add based on your tag line I have to guess 63 on all.

Back in 1973 I got an AU 1915-S for $35 at a show.

I will guess 63's. I believe nice MS-63 Indian fives are a very good value now as well as being attractive and scarce.

If you're going to string a set of those together I would suggest you use the thinnest string possible. This way you don't have to drill such big holes.

    Cheers

    Bob

P.S. Those are really too nice to drill. But, to each his own! :#

All beautiful coins and I enjoyed seeing them under my lens 👌

Magnificent. One of America's most beautiful coins.

Nice start so far. Good luck with the mint marked ones. The 12S and 09O are hard to find nice....my problem was that I never cared for this coin too much once it is circulated so i could never find any appealing AU pieces. Maybe you won't be as picky.

I'll skip that one, one example of each date will suffice. The hunt for a nice 16-S will be the toughest, I would wager.

    Thanks everyone!

And the thing about the 16-S that I have noticed is that the grading is really loose on it in some cases.
