It took me awhile to figure out what CRH stood for.

Awesome find, and a great example of what real hub-doubling looks like.

Excellent find.... and good pictures too.... Congratulations on your discovery.... CRH can be rewarding....Though a lot of work... Cheers, RickO
That's an incredible find. Were you searching bank rolls or old rolls from the 30's and 40's? I ask because it is relatively uncommon to find a 1939 in the wild let alone the big doubled die. Congrats!

Cannot tell you how many hundreds, maybe even thousands of 1939s I have closely examined and never found one. The only consolation for me is I have found a dozen or so '39-Ds and a '26-S buffer from CRH.

Don't take this the wrong way, but I hate your guts.
I have looked at hundreds of thousands of nickels and I have it in the back of my head that this coin is out there, but I have never found one.
I do set aside all 1939 nickels so I will do a second pass at some point.
Congrats on the find, and also on having the knowledge to recognize it when you saw it.
BTW - that coin (and your pics) clearly show what a real DD looks like - very different than MD.
loomis roll. mixed yr nickels
Wow, the real thing, congrats.
