Did someone just get a great deal on an 1824/2 JR-2 bust dime on eBay ?

    Probably a fair price as the average collector would not know about the difference in the date. The Graysheet makes no distinction.

    Knowledge leads to profit when it comes to varieties and coin collecting in general in my opinion. For those who think you can't make money cherry picking R-4 and higher bust coins you don't know the market very well. It is very active if you know the right players.

    I forgot to add, you can throw out the Greysheet when it comes to rare bust coins.

    You can throw out the gray sheet for a lot of things. Nevertheless, it is a guide and they cannot put every variety in it - YET. One day probably will expand it a lot but I'll be pushing up grass.

    Excellent pick up. The rare JR-2. One of my personal favorite date. I took a long time to find my JR-2.

    For collectors of that series, it appears to be a fair to good deal... hard to see everything from the listing pictures. Cheers, RickO

    Yes, a real good deal, probably worth double the cost.

    An authorized PCGS dealer, and a contributor to the Red Book.
