My daughter just asked me why I want her mom/my wife to drive to the Long Beach Coin Show with me?

They were probably starting to tone. Can't have those starting an epidemic in his collection....

That carpool is a necessity from where it starts in San Clemente to LB.

From your place you can make up for traffic by doing 95mph from Oceanside to SC. Any slower you might get rear ended. :)

You also have a designated driver for when you get drunk on coins.

My wife was whining about us being stuck at home for months.

Asked her to go with me to the Atlanta Show next weekend for a quick trip down and back.

When she learned Cobb Gallery had shopping it was spouse approved :D

You better watch out or more will be spent at the Gallery than at the show!

Does she have a sister?? :D Just kidding... My wife never complains about my spending...though I have seen some quizzical looks....Many years ago... about sixteen years...She saw me buy a set of gold Britannia's...made a comment about that much was at one time (before us) her rent and groceries...Then, when I sold it (the only coins I have ever sold) it for eight times that much, she vowed never to question my spending again. Cheers, RickO

ricko, this is the first time I've ever heard you actually sold some of your cherished coins.

Good to know you have your breaking point like the rest of us mere mortals.

You have locked in your wife for coin purchases forever now......not an easy feat!!

@Goldbully....Yes.... I have mentioned here before that I have sold darkside gold...two sets of Brittania's...The only coins I have ever sold.... Cheers, RickO

Somebody else collects Brittanias? I thought I was the only one. Beautiful coins.

Stick with your redhead, ricko. It's late in life and whereas you most likely would have never done better earlier you surely won't now.

So my wife just came up to me and said, "You know what your daughter said about why you want me to go to Long Beach?"

    Ummmm, busted :o

My wife can stay home, when I go to shows I take my now 25 year old daughter with me. She is the extra set of eyes and seems to have a curious knack for finding stuff I like. Of course she never minds if I spend money on her, she likes ancients particularly those with dolphins.

Parlay the cute kid discount at the show from the dealers. Don't ask just let it happen. lol

I like to bring my wife to a show. She has a better eye than I do and has always encouraged me to buy better coins.

I like to keep a few “coin show” days in the bank, so attending a couple of craft shows with my wife is good leverage.
