1964 Lincoln memorial penny with some edge lettering it looks like there may have been a D struck as mint mark that is way off struck to the rim at the bottom of Lincoln lapel . Can anybody help me confirm this error or give me some good atvise on this coin

Ask yourself: how could that happen in the minting process?

    Answer: it can't.

That is NOT a misplaced mint mark

Appears to be a die chip....Not an error...No numismatic premium....Cheers, RickO

Mintmark glue was sub-par in 1964.

  • Thanks for all the info I see alot on there that really Questionable on this coin if u look there is a different date stamped under the
9 horizontally and the fg is missed up on the reverse so I didn't know if that was a off stamped mint mark
