Just Completed My Franklin PR66/MS66 Slabbed Set...After 35 Years!!!

RichRRichR Posts: 3,985 ✭✭✭✭✭

Including the various types and options too.

Started the set in high school...and went from there!

The last piece from last night was a nice bright 1950 PR66/CAC...for $700.

Post something from the Truman administration!

Congrats! I’m very close to finishing my Whitman album of business strike Franklins. Do you have any pics? Any cameo/deep cameo proofs?

All straight PR66...never started on cameos. Wanted them all to match...so all straight PR66.

My priority is my Roosevelt ms67 fb set. 9 more to go. Unfortunately they're the high dollar ones.

Congrats on a great achievement Rich.

Just over one year after President Truman took office following the death of President Roosevelt, the Philippines were granted independence on July 4, 1946.

In 1947, the United States Mint at San Francisco struck silver 50 centavos and Pesos both commemorating General MacArthur. Here are TrueViews of my two examples --

    Cheers,

Re Douglas MacArthur above...an aside...my uncle server on Gen. Omar Bradley's personal staff and also worked for him after the war in the private sector (very nice honorable man)...Bradley said the other 5 Stars ALL HATED MacArthur...with a passion!!! Meanwhile, my uncle was a marine...so it was unusual for him to like Army brass.

@RichR....Congratulations....That is an admirable accomplishment. I put together an album of Franklins years ago...not high grade such as yours... I should dig that out, I like the Franklin half, although I was upset to see the WLH go away...Cheers, RickO

Actually...I still have the following in progress:
    Unc/PL Morgans...also since high school: 88% complete
Unc. Walkers: 90% complete (PR66 Walkers 100% complete)
Unc. Buff nickels: 85% complete (PR66 Buffs 100% complete)
Unc. Mercury Dimes: 93% complete (PR66 Mercs 100% complete)...and you all know which 2 coins I'm missing in Unc.!
Unc. Lincoln Cents (since 1909): 88% complete
Unc. $2.5 Eagle set: 92% complete...missing the 1 usual suspect coin

    vs.

    Unc./Proof American Eagle set: complete
    Unc. Peace set: complete
    Unc./Proof Franklin set: complete
    Unc./Proof JFK set: complete
    Unc./Proof Jefferson set: complete
    Unc./Proof Roosevelt Dime set: complete
    Unc./Proof Washington Quarter set: complete
    Unc./Proof Lincoln set...from 1909: 88% complete

So..at this rate, if I live to be 110...I should be in good shape!
