Coin roll hunting and found this tonight

1958 D wheat penny. I seem to find a lot of machine doubling. Help on this please. Could this be first DDO coin roll hunting?

    Since it is just the date and mint mark, is this a common form of push doubling or is it die wear? Looks like maybe "WE" has doubling at the top as well?

    What you see on the date is MD.

    Yes, machine doubling.... The CPG only has a '58 P with DDO.... and that is strong on all lettering. Cheers, RickO

    @Coin_nut1977 That is an excellent closeup photo of the 1958 date. With that closeup you can tell it is machine doubling by how low on the surface of the coin the doubling sits. In a true DD it would sit much higher off the surface of the coin.

    Edited to add: See this example below that @joeykoins showed above. The second example shows the DD. You can see how it sits higher above the surface of the coin.

    I KEEP ALL LINCOLNS BEFORE 1982 AS THEY ARE COPPER. MAYBE SOMEDAY IT WILL BE WORTH MELTING FOR THE COPPER.

    Yikes! I already have enough! My wife would shoot me if I kept the copper also :)
